Newbie here, trying to set up a shopify store and looking for a very simple theme. I just want the homepage to display images of products without any other distractions and clicking on those should go to the product page.
Ideally that’s a masonry style grid that scales and doesn’t change columns and isn’t a square grid.

This is doable design but it depends what theme you are using. And this design needs a developer to write the code for you or you can check this one. Its almost the same design your looking for but the kevin matsuya website, you need to click the image to zoom. The below example is it will zoom when hover.

Thanks for this suggestion @Made4uo-Ribe , it’s definitely the right direction look-wise.
Not decided on any theme yet, looking for how to approach this. The whole shop should only be the gallery of the product’s featured image and clicking on it opens the product page.
Hover doesn’t need to do anything special.
