New theme editor inquiry - Not for beginners like me

Hi @tinedgt You are not alone there multiple posts about this, and I personally have been railing against this in the shopify-parnter channels on slack (#general,#theme-dev) .

Also contact shopify support with how this makes running your business MORE difficult.

Your issues are just the tip of a very big iceberg overcomplicating merchants lives.
The fundamental problem is developer arrogance that just be we developers are used to, or prefer , this complexity that merchants and all other partners MUST MUST MUST want to experience it as well.
And that’s not even considering figuring out what higher level agendas shopify may be trying to push like charging a premium for code generation, etc.

How to disable the new theme editor

Today I was faced with a new theme editor that is much slower and harder to read than the original, it also doesn’t give you warnings for unclosed “body” and “html” tags. If you’re looking for any feedback before making this a permanent change, let me tell you that it is much worse than the old version, despite the version control feature. Code editor issue

Hi, How come the code editor changed apparance on my store ? It looks like a vscode one and all formatting is gone ? [store-tshoot]

Shopify new Theme Editor

we can’t find the file from the whole theme, there is no search option for that, what the strange thing is that this is the nacessary and important part to be notice. @shopify_252 @shopifyteam @shopifypremisfoliage @shopifycom @Shopify_Community

Another complaint, new editor isn’t even usable on smaller screens / mobile devices , forgetting about merchants on the go

New Code Editor

[IMG_8556] The new code editor doesn’t seem too mobile friendly. Even when turning it on its side has problems. It’s near impossible to select the right line of code or even see the cursor. Is there something I’m missing? Oh and it seems more convoluted searching for the right file. It feels like a complete downgrade for mobile. Can I possibly get it to go back to how it was or does anyone have tips on how to properly use this newer version?
