Open Social Media Links In New Tab Refresh Theme

I’d like to open social media links in a new tab from my site which uses the Refresh 10.0.0 theme.

I have found 2 replies, but neither of them are relevant/don’t work.

Can anybody help please?

Open your footer.liquid file and search for the “footer__list-social” class. and add the new attribute target=“_blank” to the element like below.

Thanks for the reply , unfortunately I can’t find “footer__list-social” in footer.liquid file

I realized that in the new theme version the social link code snippet was moved to its own liquid file called “social-icons.liquid”

You need to add

target="_blank"

before href
