I believe I may have been scammed by my Shopify partner. We’ve been working on my store for 7 months and I’ve invested about $15k in total after several set backs (due to having to change the Shopify theme and redo coding/global availability). While he really did create a store for me with a theme, coding, apps, etc. I started questioning his practices when it came to orders and payments.
First off, he used TikTok to advertise the products and we made several “sales” through that platform, however, I never received any payment into my bank account. He claims we would need to implement a payment sync between TikTok and Shopify. I haven’t paid that fee in full because I looked at the addresses on the orders made and they all were to commercial addresses like local government offices, charging stations, post office, stores, etc. Not one was a house or an apartment. When I asked about this he said he protected the addresses where they can choose a nearby commercial property but the supplier could see their real address to ship the product to their home, but on my end I see the nearest commercial address. Is this a thing or is it a complete scam? I already removed him from my store and changed my password. The site is real and so are the products from what I can tell, it seems like the sales may be fake If anyone could give advice that would be helpful. Thanks.
P.S. Shopify never indicated any of the sales as fraudulent.
