Packing Slips For Digital and Physical Products

Topic summary

Issue: Orders containing both a physical and a digital product generate two packing slips, which the original poster wants to avoid.

Recent update: One participant is actively working on a fix and later shared a tested workaround: assign all digital products to a separate location, creating two “warehouses.” You can then choose which warehouse’s packing slip to print, and bulk move products to that location if needed.

Alternative path: Another participant reports that the third‑party service ProtectMyOrder (shipping protection) resolved this for them and suggests contacting the provider.

Key concepts: A packing slip is the document included with a shipment. “Warehouse/location” refers to the fulfillment origin used to segment products for printing and handling.

Status: No definitive, built‑in solution confirmed. Workarounds and third‑party assistance are suggested; the issue appears open.

Action items: Configure digital products in a separate location/warehouse, use bulk move for efficiency, select the desired warehouse’s packing slip to print, or reach out to ProtectMyOrder for support.

Hi, How do I change my packing slips so that it does not create 2 packing slips when a physical and a digital product is ordered at the same time.

We are currently working on a solution for this on our website, I will keep you posted.

I did some testing on some things and you need to create a different location to house all of your Digital products. This will create 2 warehouses and you can then select which warehouse to print the packing slip from. I hope this helps. You can Bulk move locations.

We use ProtectMyOrder for our shipping protection and they sorted this out for us. Maybe contact them and ask?
