Pic of problematic Flow set up-2 email welcome automation. Help?

Topic summary

A user is struggling to set up a 2-email welcome automation in Shopify Flow and has received no help from support despite escalated tickets over several days.

Core Issue:

  • The Flow workflow lacks proper variables/conditions in the trigger and action steps
  • User wrote descriptions of desired actions but couldn’t find the correct “codes” or variables to implement them
  • Mailchimp is being used but is NOT integrated with Shopify, so subscribers added manually receive no automated emails

Attempted Solutions:

  • Community members suggested verifying the Flow structure follows Trigger → Condition → Action logic
  • Recommended adding a “Wait” action between emails and testing with a dummy account
  • Advised checking that the trigger (e.g., “Customer Created”) fires correctly without conflicts

Current Status:

  • User successfully posted a screenshot showing the problematic Flow setup
  • The workflow contains descriptive text but missing actual variables/criteria
  • To fix: User needs to click “More actions / Edit” then use “Add a variable” or “Add criteria” buttons within conditions
  • Discussion remains unresolved; user reports working on a small screen/tablet which may complicate editing

Help- How do I correct my erronious approach to setting conditions and triggers in FLOW app?
This:
I have a simple, 2 email welcome sequence. SUPPORT IS NOT NOT HELPING. and I have spent days. No replies on escalated ticket.

What now? I am sick of hours waiting on Shopify support over days. No progress.

What would you do?

I hear you, frustrating support delays can be exhausting. Based on your setup, double-check that your Flow conditions are structured logically: Trigger → Condition → Action. If your first email isn’t sending, ensure the trigger (e.g., “Customer Created”) is firing correctly and not conflicting with another automation. For the second email, add a “Wait” action (e.g., wait 1 day) before sending. Also, confirm your email tool (e.g., Shopify Email or Klaviyo) is integrated properly. If Flow still misbehaves, try duplicating the workflow and testing with a dummy account

Hey Zola, i know this isnt the solution your looking for but i just thought you might find this helpful to pump out emails a bit faster,

Im not selling anything btw just looking for a minute of your time.

I’m building an AI tool to make ecom email marketing effortless in a few clicks,

I would really appreciate it if you could help me see if this is something you would use

You’ll get early access at the end if you would like,

Appreciate it! :raising_hands:

I know it cannot be working, so not testing this. It is that there is a problem finding the “code” to put in. I only wrote a description of what I want to happen. Can you look at that and suggest codes?
I have a person who needs to get email sequence yesterday (weeks ago.)

I use mailchimp and manually add people who subscript via an opt in on my banner. That is easier and this is taking insanely long to get set up. But Mailchimp is NOT integrated, and my added subscribers have gotten no emails.

Please tell me what it accomplished. Thanks.

Your post here doesn’t contain any detail about your setup. Post screenshots of the conditions that aren’t working as you expect and describe what isn’t working. With that, someone on this community should be able to help.

I will post screenshot here, which I thought I had done. The descriptions say the steps but the codes I couldn’t find. This was kind of based on a template I had used for other flow, and that worked without all the input of conditions myself.

Prob:

Well, I do not know how to post a “flow” file here. It won’t accept word doc with screen shot.

You can only attach an image currently due to limitations with the community tool being used.

The interface here told me either a cvs file or a flow file.

It TOOK me awhile to be able to post this. I searched but cannot find variables to enter ( where “conditions” would go) to effect the steps described by me. Is that clear here? The variables are missing, and it may not be set up right, at all.

THANKS fo much for further assistance.

Zola

Paul did you see that I got the screenshot posted finally? It shows my problemmatic flow in FLOW APP. It has condision descriptions, which I just made up to describe what I was hoping for in each step.
The ISSUE mainly, is (I believe) that I never entered anything where variables should show up, if you click on the + symbol.

I don’t know if I can get help I need there.
I don’t fully know what I need, as I am fairly newbie.

Still, some work and insight under my belt, but I am feeling that this task is daunting and beyond me. I have no money to hire help.

Thanks for replying.

Please see my note to you elsewhere in this thread. Copy image here, too, in hope.

Are you on a tablet? That is a very small screen. To edit it, you need to go to “More actions / Edit”. To add variables you either need to click “Add a variable” or “Add criteria” if you are in a condition. But I’d recommend a bigger monitor
