I’m afraid not. I’m pretty sure I reported this to Shopify as a bug but don’t recall hearing anything back. My inbox is a mess though so will check again later this week.

PERMISSIONS
For staff with limited permissions using Shopify on the Mobile App, Customers must be enabled in permissions for a staff member to add a Customer to a draft order. Likewise, Products must be enabled in permissions for a staff member to add a Product to a draft order, or they’ll see an error that reads access denied.
I asked specifically if there was anything on the roadmap to fix the metafields issue and this is the response:
Yes, our developers are working on this one as well. They are already aware of the metafields that still needs to be enhance. Rest assured that they are working on this one.
Obviously there’s no timescale on that and I wouldn’t expect them to give one but, for us at least, it means steering clear of the app for listings where metafields are necessary.
