Potential scam

Hi everyone, I purchased a vinyl from a website called musicalies.com but after a second look the store seem to actually be called Musicall.

At first glance the website seemed legit and they have a wide selections of new and really precise vinyls so I didn’t really question how a scammer would actually try to scam people with super recent and niche vinyl.
The order was placed on the 20th and since no response. I’ve started to look more into it and some details seem sketchy now.

the adress email used for the confirmation mail was store+91361313151@t.shopifyemail.com

As it seemed to be a registered store on Shopify I assumed it was legit but there’s apparently scams here too. Can anyone help me to either find a way to check with or on Shopify if the website is legit, or to actually get a refund ?
I would greatly appreciate some help, I’m a student so a vinyl might not seem like a big scam but to me it’s important money

Hello there Rose @roseparade I’ll do some looking into for the store but your best course of action for now would be to send all the relevant details and receipts of the scam to Shopify support so some sort of action can be taken.

Hi @roseparade

Welcome to the community, but sorry to hear it is one more scam. And just because it is on Shopify, it does not mean it is safe. Actually, Shopify is so easy to set up that scammers are using it too much.

First for a refund, you can only try your bank, but it is a long shot. For Shopify, you can and you should report the merchant

https://www.shopify.com/legal/tools/report-an-issue/report-a-merchant ISsue with the order or Fraud.

Now, to me that site looks really suspicious. They are using the theme “Shrine PRO” that I saw on many scam stores, they have that that Why Us? the table that makes no sense, and fake Trustpilot reviews. Because if you check Trustpilot website and that store, there are no reviews. But now you have a chance to warn someone if you leave a review that they deserve.

First thing I check on a store is contact/business information, and this one has no clear one. Only if you see the Privacy policy on the checkout link, at the very bottom, you can find some Gmail email and some address, which can be fake. So no phone, business name, or registration number. That would be enough for me to pass and look somewhere else.

One more thing, the domain is just 15 days old, so either it is a very new store and good for them to get sales that fast, or they are experienced scammers that create fake stores like this every day, then use mass social reach to get a lot of visitors. When a store gets closed, they just open a new one.

Stay safe, and hope karma does its thing and you get some win on the lotery or something.
