I need help with preorders. I used Essential Preorder but all of my customers still got confirmation emails from Shopify with the wrong estimated ship dates. Now they are all emailing asking me where their order is and it’s a nightmare. If you’ve totally mastered pre-orders, I’d love to connect.
Hi there,
I am Zydrunas, from Essential Preorder application team.
The Essential Preorder app sends its own preorder confirmation email to customers when enabled, but Shopify’s default order confirmation email is also sent automatically and cannot be disabled or replaced due to Shopify platform limitations. This means customers will receive two emails: one from Shopify with the standard estimated delivery date, and one from our app with preorder details.
To help clarify shipping expectations for your customers, we recommend customizing your Shopify order confirmation email template to include a message about preorder shipping. You can add a snippet like: “If your order contains preorder items, you will receive an additional email with delivery information.” This helps reduce confusion about ship dates.
Please ensure that preorder email notifications are enabled in the Essential Preorder app settings so that customers receive these emails.
Hi there,

Thanks. I am trying to customize the email from my Shopify account now but it won’t let me edit any of the text. The emails are being sent from Essential Preorder but most are going to spam, I think.
Hi there,
To edit the Shopify Order Confirmation Email, please go to Settings → Notifications → Customer Notifications → Order Confirmation → Press “Edit Code”, and edit the text parts in the code.
Are you using a Custom Sender domain or our default sender address? To help prevent emails from landing in spam, we recommend avoiding links, all caps, emojis, or urgent language in your preorder email content. Our development team has also updated the sending email server and is warming up the IP address to improve inbox placement.
If you’re still experiencing any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team at support@essential-apps.com — we’re available 24/7 and happy to assist you directly.
Best regards,
Zydrunas
