Problem with mobile view

Topic summary

Mobile navigation behavior: the store owner wants a parent menu item (e.g., “Elettronica”) to both open its page and reveal its subcategories (“elettrodomestici,” “strumenti musicali”) on mobile.

Context shared: store URL provided (www.xmine23.it). A screenshot was attached to illustrate the menu behavior.

Key feedback/constraints:

  • On mobile, a tap on the parent item triggers navigation, which closes the menu. Therefore, making the parent both a link and an expander is not feasible with the current setup.

Suggested workaround:

  • Remove the link from the parent (“Elettronica”) so tapping it only expands to show sub-sections; users then navigate via the sub-menu links.

Status and next steps:

  • No built-in solution to support both navigation and expansion on the same tap was provided.
  • Custom implementation was offered by a participant, but no technical details or final changes were confirmed.
  • Discussion remains open; unresolved if a custom solution will be applied.

Hello, I’m having a problem when browsing my website from mobile. When I go to click a section.

When I click Elettronica for example I need to be able to click and it goes to the elettronica section, but at the same time I want to be able to see the sections under it like “elettrodomestici” and “strumenti musicali” sorry if im’ not explaining my problem very clearly. There is a way I can fix this issue?

Hi @vivvy1522

Could you share your store URL so I can check?

sorry! here it is www.xmine23.it

Hi @vivvy1522 So you want it clickable so that customer can go to Elettronica but you want that customer can also look into it’s sub section? Is I am right?

If yes then it is not possible because if you make the main element clickable then whenever customer will click it, every time it will lands on Elettronica page, in this case you need to remove the link from Elettronica so that if customer will click it they can find the sub section and then from subsection they can click on whichever menu they want to go into.

If you will unable to implement the same then I’m happy to do this for you, let me know, if the above answer is confusing you, then I can implement the changes so that this will work well for you.

Hopefully it will help you. If yes then Please don’t forget hit Like and Mark it as solution!

Best Regards

Sahil

Ah, I now understand your point. It’s impossible to do that on mobile because if you click to open Elettronica, the page will open a new window, and the menu will close automatically.
