A Shopify store owner is questioning whether to keep both product categories and product types after reading Shopify’s help documentation. They currently use product types like “Kids T-Shirt” for most items and are considering deleting all product type labels. They’re seeking advice on whether there’s a good reason to maintain both classification systems or if one is sufficient for organizing their inventory.
I have read Shopify help where the difference between product category and product types. Most of my products have a product type like “Kids T-Shirt”, etc.
Now after reading the help about this (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/details/product-type#product-category-and-product-types), I’m wondering if I should delete all the product type labels.
Or is there a good reason to have both?
