Products included in GoogleAds

Topic summary

A user asks whether it’s possible to select specific products for Google Ads campaigns and whether this segmentation strategy makes sense for a new, unknown brand.

Multiple Solutions Available:

  • Feed-level control: Unpublish products directly in the data feed to prevent them from being listed
  • Campaign segmentation: Use product IDs to create subdivisions within campaigns for targeted promotion
  • Excluded destination attribute: Remove specific products from advertising through manual editing in Google Merchant Center (GMC), feed rules, or supplemental feeds

A respondent confirms there are numerous methods to achieve product selection, providing links to detailed guides for campaign subdivision and the excluded destination attribute. The discussion remains open regarding which approach would be most strategic for a new brand.

Hello LoOreTi, thank you for your question.

There are a lot of ways to move forward.

Depending on your data feed solution, you can unpublish them in the feed, meaning not listing them.

You can also segment products based on ID’s in the campaigns. More info: https://feedarmy.com/kb/google-adwords-how-to-create-subdivision-product-listings/

You can also use the excluded destination attribute to remove them from the feed.

You can add the excluded destination manually when you edit products in GMC, or using feed rules: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/14994083?hl=en

Or using supplemental feeds.

So many ways to achieve the same.
