Hi, I am looking to upgrade my theme as current one is so slow, when I start researching themes there are loads that appear to be very good but they do not appear in shopify theme store, why is this and is it ok to buy a theme from someone like Shoptimized even though its not in theme store? Would obviously buy licence etc, I am just confused as to why what is advertised as an amazing theme is not in theme store, thanks in advance

Few reasons I can think of is the theme creator does not want to go to the hassle of meeting the Shopify requirements, or they might not meet the requirements. Also, it will take time for the theme to be approve vs selling the theme now.

I understand you have questions regarding themes that are listed for sale outside of the official Shopify Theme Store.
Themes available for purchase in the Theme Store are vetted and approved for sale by Shopify. Additionally, if you run into any issues with your theme you can get support from our team to resolve the issue, and are able to test and customize the theme prior to purchasing it.
While you absolutely can purchase a theme outside of Shopify, if something goes wrong with theme you are out of luck our team is not able to assist as these are not approved themes. Additionally, you aren’t able to test drive it as you can with themes purchased from the Them Store. Keep in mind, the developer advertising their product will of course state its amazing, even if it is or isn’t.
