I started a shopify free trial a while back. I didn’t do anything with the app. I went on paypal and it charged me $115 and $41 which is most likely the plan. I do not want anything to do with selling online, and I’m getting charged for it. I cannot log into shopify because I got a new phone number, and i cannot deactivate any services. Is it possible to get a refund and deactivate my store? I am on a separate shopify account under a different email to post this.
Hi, @endaxess
Greetings, and thanks for posting!
I understand you are wanting a refund for your Shopify account. It sounds like you created a trial account and forgot to close the account once the trial expired. Please note, Shopify doesn’t charge based on usage, but every 30 days until the account is closed.
If you’re unable to login, you can access our Live Chat via the Help Center to discuss closing your account and receiving a refund. From the Help Center, select 'Contact Shopify Support’ but do not login. Instead, select ‘I can’t login’ then on the next page ‘I still can’t access my account.’ On the final page you will see the option for Live Chat.
I hope that helps!
I am back into my account. But why am I being charged 115$ when i have no subscriptions and it doesnt show up on billing history? did someone hack into my account? am i getting charged for no reason?
highly doubt shopify will do anything about it, and my bank refuses to reimburse me.
Hi, @endaxess
Thanks for your screenshot!
My limited assumption of what happened is that you accidentally created two accounts. This can happen when a user selects Start Trial instead of Log in, and is something I have seen a few times. This will create a second trial account. In this case, its possible the second account could possibly be the annual Starter Plan which is roughly $115. You can verify this by using our Recovery Tool to input your email to determine if there are multiple accounts.
If so, and the accounts are closed in a timely matter, our team is generally happy to provide a refund. That being said it needs to be done via the traditional authenticated channels such as Live Chat or Email. The instructions to access these channels are in my original message.
If you have any other questions please let me know!
how long does it take for Shopify to let me access my account. i uploaded the documents a while ago and they have not reviewed it yet. I’m afraid they will not refund for $115 if too much time passes by
