There is a lot of white space under the header (on all pages). I have tried every code given as a solution on the boards but nothing works. My code files end in css. not scss. so not sure if that has anything to do with it. Please help thanks!

Thanks for reaching out in the Community today with your question regarding the white space in your header! I’m going to make a suggestion here that actually isn’t coding related as this may solve your issues without some extra steps.
I’ve actually seen this before during my time as a Support Advisor here at Shopify. Often times, the cause of the situation here is that the image your using for your logo is larger than the logo itself. This causes the header to increase in size to accommodate the size of the logo image. In the interest of confirming this, does the image you’re using for your logo have a background that goes beyond the size of the lettering in the image?
What I want to suggest for you to try are the following:
- Resize the logo image using our free Shopify Image Resizing Tool and then upload that newly sized logo. You should see the header reduce in size if you use a smaller image size. You can also use other resizing software if you like.
- Remove the extra space that’s in the background of the image. This should make it should your logo image is only as tall as the lettering itself, and reduce the size of the headers across your website. Image editing software could help with those, or you can use something like Microsoft Paint to crop the white background space out of the image, save the edited photo, and try uploading that.
Give these steps a try and let me know how things go. I’ll eagerly await your reply here so we can continue looking into some things you can try if resizing the image doesn’t work.
Thank you sooo much! I cut the white space around it and now it looks so much better. Is there a way to move it more to the left?

When it comes to moving your logo over to the left a bit more, you can try using the logo width adjusting tool in your theme settings but this would lead to increasing the size of the white space again. You’ll likely want to investigating a coding change to the header of your theme in order to adjust the logo a bit more to the left.
