On may 13 i changed plan from starter to basic to try it out now 12 days later i feel i dont need the basic and want to change back to starter. I went to contact support but they said it was a one time thing for new merchants..
At this time of my business i cannot afford paying for basic.
I havent even been billed yet for basic and would really want to go back to starter as i only do marketing on social media. I dont want to start a new business as i already have added my products, domain, info etc..
The Shopify Starter Plan is not available for downgrading from existing plans as it’s only available for new merchants and accounts in the free trial period. However, if you’d like to go back to the Starter Plan, then you’ll need to consider creating a new account. You can also backup and duplicate your store’s content, and then import them to the new account in order to save some time. You can also disconnect the custom domain so that you can reconnect it to your new store.
If you’re using a custom domain, then you can reconnect the domain right away. However, if you’re referring to the Shopify URL (store.myshopiffy.com), then this domain cannot be reused. The analytics or reports cannot be transferred as indicated on our guide. In short, you are backing up some of the data and then re-uploading them (eg. export and import products).
If you have any other questions on this topic, then don’t hesitate to let us know.
You can create a new account if you’d like to use the Starter Plan again. Otherwise, you can continue using your existing account on the Shopify Basic Plan.
