Second Review Request

Topic summary

A store owner is seeking feedback after revamping their e-commerce site following an initial review. The store has shown significant UI improvements, including better consistency in colors, fonts, and layout.

Key feedback provided:

  • Homepage video quality needs optimization since it’s the first thing customers see
  • Pop-up sizing issue: A full-page OptiMonk promotion interrupts user flow and may feel like spam; recommendation is to use a smaller, centered in-page pop-up instead
  • Product page layout: Images appear disorganized when multiple photos are present; needs better structure for cleaner presentation
  • CTAs lack visibility: Buttons blend into backgrounds and need bolder, contrasting colors with more action-oriented text
  • Product descriptions are too basic and don’t effectively sell the products; should highlight benefits and emotional appeal
  • Missing trust signals: Add customer reviews, testimonials, and a “Why Choose Us?” section
  • Mobile page speed: Some lag detected; compress images and limit background apps

The owner has implemented some suggestions and is keeping the thread open for additional feedback. Overall assessment is positive—the store is well-structured with clean design and good product photography, but needs refinement in messaging, social proof, and technical optimization.

@YCW1 Hey, thanks for posting here.
Sure

Good day to you @YCW1 ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I’m Lindseyfrom BON: Loyalty Rewards Referrals.

First, I want to acknowledge the changes to the store compared to last time. There’s a significant improvement in the UI, as I can see more consistency in colors, fonts, and the arrangement of elements across the pages.

From a perspective of a product executive, I would like to offer you a few suggestions to help your website make a better impression on customers:

  • Improve the quality of the video in the hero banner on the Homepage: The Homepage is the first page your customers see when they enter the store. Therefore, the images or videos displayed here should be optimized for quality so that customers can clearly see your products.

  • Adjust size of the OptiMonk Pop-up: While scrolling on the Homepage, I was unexpectedly redirected to a page, which was actually a full-page-sized pop-up for a promotion. For some customers, they might think it’s spam advertising when they didn’t intend to click to view, but are shown such a large pop-up. This can be a barrier for customers to stay on your store as it interrupts their experience flow. How to improve: You could adjust the pop-up size, ideally to an in-page pop-up format with a dismissible option.

  • Consistency in text alignment: Currently, some of your text is left-aligned, while others are centered. You should standardize all text alignment, and I believe centering the text would be optimal for both small devices like phones and computers/laptops.

  • Product details page: I currently see that the arrangement of products is not reasonable. The current layout may overwhelm customers because your images are not neatly organized. You should consider a layout for displaying product images if there are more than two images like this. The product page will look tidier and easier for buyers to view.

Hope that my suggestions will help improve your website performance! Looking forward to hearing good news from you soon!

If you find these suggestions helpful for you, please let me know by giving BON Loyalty a ‘LIKE’ or marking it as a ‘SOLUTION’.

Cheers,

Lindsey

Hi @YCW1

I took a close look at your store and I can see that you’ve put in a lot of effort revamping it—great job! Here are a few things that stand out and some areas where you can improve to enhance the overall shopping experience.

What’s Working Well

:check_mark: Clean & Modern Design – Your store has a nice, sleek layout that looks professional and visually appealing. The colors and typography are consistent, making it easy on the eyes.

:check_mark: Product Presentation – Your product images are clear, well-lit, and high-quality, which is great for conversions. I also like that you have a mix of product-only shots and lifestyle images.

:check_mark: Navigation & Structure – The menu is simple and easy to navigate. Finding products doesn’t take much effort, which is exactly what you want for a smooth user experience.

What Can Be Improved

:small_blue_diamond: Homepage Clarity (Above-the-Fold Section)
The first thing users see when they land on your site is crucial. Right now, it feels like there’s no immediate hook that tells visitors exactly what you sell and why they should buy from you.

Solution: Add a short, engaging headline with a strong value proposition. Something like:
:backhand_index_pointing_right: “Creative & Trendy Wear for Bold Expression – Designed to Stand Out!”

:small_blue_diamond: Call-to-Action (CTA) Buttons Need to Pop More
Your CTA buttons (like “Shop Now”) blend in a bit too much with the background. They should be more visually striking.

Solution: Try using a bolder color that contrasts with the background and make sure the text is clear and action-oriented, like “Get Yours Today” instead of just “Shop Now.”

:small_blue_diamond: Product Descriptions Could Be More Engaging
Your product descriptions are a bit basic, and they don’t really “sell” the product. People don’t just buy products—they buy the story, experience, and benefits behind them.

Solution: Instead of just listing features, highlight how your products solve a problem or fit into a customer’s lifestyle. Example:

  • No: “100% Cotton, Unisex Fit, Printed Design”
  • Yes: “Super soft, breathable cotton that keeps you comfortable all day. A perfect fit for your everyday style, whether you’re out with friends or chilling at home!”

:small_blue_diamond: Trust Signals (Social Proof & Reviews)
I don’t see customer reviews on your product pages. Reviews are super important for building trust and boosting sales.

Solution:

  • If you have past buyers, send follow-ups asking for reviews (apps like Judge.me or Loox can help).
  • Feature user-generated content (customers wearing your products) on the homepage or product pages.
  • Add a “Why Choose Us?” section to highlight what makes your brand unique (e.g., high-quality materials, unique designs, ethical production).

:small_blue_diamond: Improve Page Speed (Especially on Mobile)
Your store loads decently fast, but I noticed some slight lag on mobile. A slow site can lead to higher bounce rates.

Solution:

  • Compress images using tools like TinyPNG or Shopify’s built-in optimizer.
  • Limit the number of apps running in the background—too many can slow down your store.
  • Run a speed test using Google PageSpeed Insights and optimize any flagged issues.

Final Thoughts

You’re definitely on the right track, and the store looks much more polished now! Just refine the homepage messaging, make your CTAs pop, strengthen product descriptions, and add social proof to boost credibility. If you fine-tune these areas, you’ll likely see better conversions.

If you need any other assistance, feel free to ask, and I will try my best to support you.
Best regards,
Daisy.
