Selling in more countries with different inventory

Hello,

We are planning to have a second inventory in a different country and fulfill orders coming from the region where the respective country is located from that second inventory. I would like hence to reflect in shopify two inventories and associate countries to either inventory location 1 or inventory location 2. I didnt manage to find how to do this… Can anyone please help?

Here’s how I’ve seen this done:

  1. Create a location for each country and assign those locations to all your products, each with inventory.

  2. When an order comes in, Shopify will assign a fulfillment location based on location priority. The location might not correlate to the location of the country you want, so in those cases you can change the location: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/locations/managing-orders#changing-the-fulfillment-location

  3. Now fulfilling from the country will subtract inventory from that country’s warehouse.

If you want to automate the location changing, you can use Order Automator. I’m the lead developer of that app, and have worked with merchants to automate step 2 above, assigning the correct location.

I don’t know if there’s a way to automate it natively with Shopify, I assume not since we have people that use our app to handle location mapping, but if end up going the Order Automator route feel free to reach out through the app and ask for Joe, I’ll help you get set up.
