Selling in other countries

Topic summary

A Chilean store owner needs a payment gateway that accepts international currencies and converts them to Chilean pesos. The main challenge is that major payment processors like Shopify Payments and Stripe are not available in Chile, causing failed transactions from international customers.

Suggested solutions:

  • Use Shopify’s payment gateway finder tool (shopify.com/payment-gateways) to identify Chile-compatible options by entering the location
  • Consider Stripe Atlas to establish a US business entity and access a US Stripe account, then use the “Easy Pie Shopify Stripe Checkout” app for multi-currency payment processing

The discussion remains open with no confirmed resolution yet.

I’ve done some research and from what I’ve seen, Shopify payments isn’t available in Chile, and neither is Stripe.

I would really like to have this problem fixed, as I’ve had many people from other countries trying to purchase things from my store and the payment won’t go through

Hey there, try using this - https://www.shopify.com/payment-gateways

Scroll down and enter your location [Chile], and it will list all the payment methods that are available in your country.

Check out “Stripe Atlas”, launch your business in the US with it, and get a Stripe US account. And use “Easy⇡****Pie Shopify Stripe Checkout” to accept payments with many payment methods supported by your Stripe account.
