I’m using the Salt Yard theme and have a contact form that has custom code Contact Us – MINNESSAK the send button works in Edit Theme but not on the website itself can someone tell me why and how to fix it please

it is not working as the is a javascript error on the site, if you are using an app then show them this screenshot

It looks like there is a JavaScript error on the live store, but it is hard to tell the exact cause from the screenshot alone.

Can you share a little more detail about the contact form?

Is it added through an app, or is it custom code inside the theme? If an app is involved, which app are you using?

Also, if possible, share the custom code related to the form or Send button.

That should help narrow down why it works in the Theme Editor but not on the live storefront.

Your form and the Send button are fine. I tested your live contact page (Salt Yard / Symmetry). The Send button is a real submit button and the form passes validation, so the theme and the custom code are not the problem.

One of your apps is throwing a JavaScript error on the live page (the “Maximum call stack size exceeded” error you were shown). That error stops the form script from finishing.

Why it works in the theme editor but not on the live site: apps do not run inside the theme editor.

How to find the app that breaks it

  • Online Store > Themes > Customize.
  • Bottom-left, open App embeds.
  • Turn the toggles OFF one at a time. After each one, Save, reload your live contact page, and click Send.
  • When Send starts working, the last app you turned off is the culprit.

Start with the apps most likely to rewrite or delay other scripts. On your site I can see SEOAnt (AI SEO), CookieYes (cookie banner), Klaviyo and Judge.me. Speed / SEO / cookie apps are the usual cause.

Two more things:

  • If the culprit is a page-speed / “optimize” app, do not remove it. Open its settings and turn OFF the “defer / lazy-load JavaScript” option. That is what breaks theme scripts.
  • Also check Settings > Apps for a speed booster that has no embed toggle, and pause it to test.

Once you find it, keep that embed off.

Hi Ploqo,
Thanks for your getting back to me. Having tried several things it turns out that the problem is being caused by the hCatptcha on Shopify. I’m contacting them now to try and resolve it.
