I am in the process of setting up a Printful account to integrate with my current Shopify store where I grow and sell plants. I am running into an issue with shipping costs.
Currently I offer free shipping for plant orders of $25+. For all other plant orders shipping is $7.99. I would like to keep this for my plant sales and charge shipping for Printful independent of my plant orders.
Issue example
1 x $6 plant
1 x $20 shirt
Current result: They will get free shipping for the plant (because total order is over $25) and pay $3.99 to ship the shirt. I lose money on the plant.
What I need to happen:
Customer pays $7.99 to ship the plant and they pay $3.99 to ship the shirt for a total shipping cost of $11.98
Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

I believe this should be possible with Shopify’s native “Shipping and Delivery” settings.
You would need to set up two separate shipping profiles and restrict your products to each.
Profile 1: Plants
*restricted to just plants
Profile 2: Printful
*restricted to just printful products

Thanks for your reply! I was playing around with those settings today but couldn’t reach the desired result.
I have my general shipping profile with all of my plants. And my two shipping options. $7.99 standard and Free for $25+
Then I have my app shipping profile for Printful which addresses shipping rates for all of those products.
Result is still that the customer would get Free shipping without the $25 minimum for plants but pay $3.99 for shipping the shirt.
Unless I am missing something? Do I need to make custom profiles?
Ahh, actually you may not be able to do it natively. It seems like it is performing exactly as it should. The customer is being offered the free shipping option since the cart total is > $25 and they are being offered the 3.99 option because they have a printful item in their cart.
You may need to utilize a 3rd party app to accomplish this. I would suggest trying out https://apps.shopify.com/vendor-shipping-rules-1

I may just make the clothing items more expensive to cover most of the shipping cost of any plants that are also purchased.
