Server Error - Adding New Customer

Trying to add new customers to create orders for internal employee shipments for a client. Every customer/address I try to add comes back “Server Error.”

Draft order creation allows me to add products, but it will not allow me to “Create a New Customer.” Product weights have been added. Checkout and Shipping & Delivery have been configured.

I have put in valid full shipping address with emails and phone numbers.

I have logged out and back in.

I have cleared my cache/cookies/browsing history.

Is there an issue being worked on or is there something I’m not doing correctly?

Thanks,

There might be. Nothing is being reported as of now.

Here is the site that you can check the server status: https://www.shopifystatus.com/

If it is a smaller issue it may go unreported on this site if it is affecting a small number of people. At the bottom there is a contact link. You can click it and submit the issue for them to look at it. You have basically done everything they would tell you to do for troubleshooting, so I wouldn’t even waste your time with that. I would just report it and wait a bit. Hopefully, they will sort it out for ya.

Hey there, @BLCfulfill . Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community Forums around your difficulty with adding new customers. My name is Imogen. It’s great to meet you!

I wanted to jump in and say that we do not have any ongoing incidents related to customer creation in the Shopify Admin! To confirm, are you experiencing issues creating new customers only when doing so via a draft order, or even when trying to create that new customer via the ‘customer’ tab in the Shopify Admin? I attempted to replicate this issue with creating and saving a new customer via a draft order creation and was unable to replicate your experience here.

I definitely recommend reaching out to our Authenticated Support Team via our Help Center so we can take a closer look at what you’ve been experiencing, and then do some more in-depth troubleshooting from there! As we’re unable to authenticate folks here in the Community, I can’t access your store or admin in real-time to dig into this myself, but our Support Team will be able to take a closer look if you reach out to them via the link I’ve shared!

Hello, I’ve been experiencing the same problem as BCFFulfil

I’ve cleared cache, logged in and out, restarted laptop, tried chrome and safari.

I’m having the same issue, any fixes yet?

I’ve had a similar issue before, so I get the frustration! It sounds like there could be a server-side glitch causing the problem. I’d recommend checking a few things: first, make sure no server overloads or maintenance updates are happening. Sometimes, things slow down temporarily. If that doesn’t fix it, you might want to try restarting your server or clearing your cache. If using VPS hosting, ensure the specs are enough to handle the load. If you’re looking for reliable VPS options, I like https://ishosting.com/en/vps —they’ve been pretty solid for me. If all else fails, it might be worth reaching out to support to see if there’s a deeper issue at play.
