Hi - we are looking at swapping to Shopify but we have complex shipping rules. Including selling multiples of same product for half rate shipping
For example you buy one widget the shipping cost is £10 but if he buys two its £15 etc
Apparently parcelify will do the job however to enable store front shipping i have to sign up the advanced plan and this is £344 a month! When realistically we only need the basic package
Any ideas on this ?
You actually don’t to upgrade to Advanced plan. You can get CCS enabled by paying just $20 extra to Shopify every month on the basic plan.
Further more, I just built an app which solves the exact problem you listed. I am looking for beta users to try the app for free. Would you be interested?
Hi neatproductsltd!
Are you still using Shipmagic? Shipmagic is a good app indeed, however, the cost is still high. If you need a shipping rate app that can solve your problem with a basic, low-cost, yet convenient plan, you can check out our app “ShipEZ" via this link ShipEZ‑ Shipping Rates & Rules - ShipEZ - Shipping Rates & Rules | Shipping Calculator | Shopify App Store
Hey @neatproductsltd,
Yeah, that’s one of the rough parts of moving to Shopify. The moment you need custom shipping logic, it tries to shove you onto the Advanced plan just to unlock “carrier-calculated rates.” It’s overkill if you’re not running a massive store.
If your goal is something like:
you don’t actually need Parcelify’s full setup. A couple of apps can handle that logic on lower Shopify plans:
-
Better Shipping: lets you add rules like “base rate + extra per additional item” or “cap at £X.” Simple and clean.
-
ShipX – Shipping Rates & Rules: also handles quantity-based pricing, regions, and product exceptions without forcing you up to Advanced.
If you just need smart flat rates, try Better Shipping first, it’ll probably do what you need without the £344 headache.
Hope this helps a bit! If it does, feel free to mark it as a solution so others can find it too
