Topic summary
A user received threatening emails claiming their Shopify store would be shut down for “operational fraud,” despite not yet selling anything. The emails came from shopifypolicyenforcer11@gmail.com.

- Multiple community members report receiving similar fraudulent emails
Recommended actions:
- Do not open, click links, or interact with these emails
- Always verify the sender’s email address before taking any action
- Mark such emails as spam and delete them
Hi @Kaelobrien1
Welcome to the community.
What do you mean you are not sure? ![]()
Do you think there is shopifypolicyenforcer12 or shopifypolicyenforcer100, all gmail?
Yes it is a scam, Shopify will never use gmail. Please search here or google and you will find hundreds of topics with same or similar scams. That try with sense of urgency to make you click a link to their “support” that will ask for money and will do nothing. They will “fix” something that is not broken.
Stay safe.
Hey there @Kaelobrien1 firstly, I sympathize with you for the inconvenience. Secondly, just a rule of thumb but Shopify would never reach out to you using a Gmail account, so once you see that you should automatically mark it down as a scam account and avoid opening or interacting with any mails whatsoever from such an account.
Yes this is scam I have received multiple emails like this. Be aware and always check the sender email before perfom any action on the email.
