Shopify email

Topic summary

A user successfully created email designs in Canva (21x70cm) and uploaded them to Shopify’s email app for months. Recently, images stopped reaching full width despite adjusting width settings, leaving visible background margins.

Suggested solutions include:

  • Exporting from Canva at 800-1000px width instead of cm dimensions
  • Setting image block width to 100% and removing padding
  • Switching to a full-width email template layout
  • Contacting Shopify support about potential recent platform updates

The issue remains unresolved, with the possibility that Shopify made backend changes affecting image display behavior.

Hi all,

I’ve recently finally found out the perfect size for the shopify email app. Basically, I create my design in Canva (21x70cm) and then upload it as a picture to Shopify email. This has been working perfectly for the last couple of months, and now no matter what I do the picture doesn’t reach the full width of the email. I have of course tried to change the width, but it stays the same. Example below:

I simply want my design (the picture I inserted) to cover the full width covering the blue backgroud.

Anyone knows if there has been a recent update or any changes that prevent me from doing the described above?

Many many thanks for all your help!

Lucy

Hi Lucy,

Try these quick fixes to make your image full-width in Shopify Email:

  1. Check Image Size: Export from Canva at 800px wide (or 1000px) for best results.

  2. Adjust Block Settings: Click the image and set width to 100% (remove padding if needed).

  3. Use a Full-Width Section: Some templates restrict width—switch to a “full-width” layout.

  4. Reach Out to Support: If it still doesn’t work, Shopify may have updated their system.
