Too much time gets wasted on downloading an app from the App store that is just not in any way, in shape for and end-user to function.
We received an email promoting Smart SEO Boost by Smart Sell Club. It sounded like it was worth trying.
It stated it worked with the image alt tags to improve SEO standings.
After downloading it, I tried to pick a few products to see what it did.
It presented me a screen of about 25 products in alpha order.
Unfortunately,
- It had 167 pages of products (I am assuming they are all the active ones, but many may have 0
quantities…but not that many). They had no explanation of the criteria they used to ‘pull’ these products.
-
There is no ‘search’ to quickly get to the product you want to work on.
-
I tried ‘jumping’ forward a few pages at a time and it took over 2 minutes to display .
-
There is no checkbox if you want to select all products on a page or all products in the list.
Basically, it had absolutely NO user friendly (in other words, us shop owners) functionality that should are STANDARD on any kind of app.
We deleted.
Shopify must have some minimum standards that a developer needs to meet.
Why does the customer (shop owners) need to waste time testing apps only to find the app is a total frustration and time-waster. I rarely look at apps for this reason…got enticed today…will be a while before I do again.
Sorry…venting today.
