Shopify payment for supplement is restricted!

Hi everyone, Hi Victor @Victor_5

I had a Shopify store in the USA, and we already had a stripe account. However, need to know what’s the best option as Shopify neither accept “pseudo Pharmaceutical”, nor link to my Stripe account.

need help with the alternative that is affordable and doesn’t have such restrictions! The current store sales in the USA.

Thanks!

Hi @meo_me ,

Products deemed to be pseudo-pharmaceuticals cannot be sold through most payment gateways as far as I understand, so your best bet would be to try payment gateways that generally allow for more “high risk” products to be sold using their services.

Whilst I cannot guarantee that these payment providers will allow your products to be sold using their gateway, I would recommend checking out Pinwheel and Authorize.net as alternative options. These are popular third-party gateway options that integrate directly with Shopify and generally allow for products with higher risk profiles to be sold.

Thanks @Victor_5

Hi @meo_me ,

No problem. I’m glad I could help.

Hi, there.

I’am based in the UK selling food supplements such as spirulina, turmeric, etc. Will I be able to use Shopify Payments? If not can you please recommend any UK payment providers that allow credit card payments, among other types of payments?

Thanks

Hi @healthiswealth8 ,

You can refer to our Shopify Payments UK Terms of Service to get a better idea of what businesses are prohibited for the gateway; section B5 provides some examples of the prohibited products and businesses. If you decide to use the gateway, our team will review your store and see if your products and business is eligible.

If you are deemed not eligible, you can check out other gateways that are available to UK merchants. It’s best to reach out to the gateways directly if you have questions about eligibility.
