I put my first ticket in for this issue on Oct 26th. I have a this notification “
“Payouts will be paused tomorrow
If your Shopify Payments account details aren’t updated by 11:59 PM EST, your payouts
will be paused”
I renter my information. It says Ready. When I leave the page it shows email could not be verified and phone number could not be verified, then the message resets again.
Every ticket they say they “reset it” but it never changed.
Has anyone found a work around, clearly I need to leave Shopify is this happens
Michelle TCM has this problem been resolved ? if yes, how ? I am currently going through same situation. Payments have now been paused OR I’d rather say that Shopify is not depositing MY MONEY into my account for over a week and Support continues to tell me I have to wait until my file is reviewed.
I am having the same issue you and others who have responded to this post are having. I have not received a payout since January 22. I am dangerously close to over drawing my bank account. I keep getting the same response from “support advisors” about file being reviewed. All credit card sales since February 1st show as pending. I am so frustrated and angry at the total lack of accountability from Shopify. Pulling the plug on all websites and POS systems as soon as this is resolved.
I’m in the same boat here for the nonprofit I volunteer for. 1 week of sales that is completely stopped right now. At first I thought everything was fine because the day after I had a payout scheduled, but it’s still only “scheduled” and I don’t have any payout for this weeks sales…
That’s exactly what I’m complaining about. Shopify simply closes shops without notice, withholds funds and support cannot be reached. No chance of reaching anyone by phone or email, just useless home office chat support.
Same issue here. Over €5,000 frozen for 7 days. 17 support contacts. Zero resolution.
The “Update Business Details” page is completely blank for me. Agents keep saying they “escalated” or “reset” something. Nothing ever changes. Verification emails they claim to send never arrive.
One agent confirmed this is a “known sync error.” Another confirmed a “dual system failure” in writing. This problem has existed since at least 2022 — I found posts going back that far.
They also told me:
“We do not have any maximum wait time” (so they can hold your money forever)
Every escalation moves your ticket to the BACK of the queue (so the more you complain, the longer you wait)
Upload links in chat, phone calls, direct emails are all “not technically possible” (so when their system fails, there is no alternative)
Your post is from February 2025. There are posts from 2022, 2023, 2024 with the same issue. It is now January 2026 and still not fixed. This is not a bug they cannot fix. This is a bug they choose not to fix.

FSPO (Financial Services Ombudsman, Ireland)
CCPC Ireland
Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (Irish Police — fraud)
Swedish Economic Crime Authority
European Banking Authority
ODCE Ireland
I recommend you do the same with regulators in your country. The more merchants report this, the more pressure for action.
Do not just leave Shopify quietly. Make noise. File complaints. Document everything. They have gotten away with this for 4+ years because merchants give up.
