I am experiencing a very frustrating problem with Shopify Payments and Stripe. Almost all creditcard payments get declined with the code ‘‘do-not-honor’’. The problem is occurring on a Shopify store in the Danish market. It started a few weeks ago in Stripe, before that I was selling in Denmark for 4-6 weeks without any problems. I switched to Shopify Payments and it went well for 2 weeks, after that the same problem occured.
I am still waiting for a reply from Shopify payments and Stripe, but I have little hope that they will come up with a solution. I have ready similar posts on this forum where people have the same problem without any solutions.
Is there anyone who has a solution to this problem? Or a recommendation for a different payment provider, other checkout provider etc.?
Typically, The ‘Do Not Honor’ error indicates that the payment processor declined the order payment attempt. It is a generic decline code that doesn’t provide specific information. I would recommend having the customer contact their banks so they can get more details regarding why their payment was declined.

Yes, switch to another payment provider. I switched to Airwallex, problem solved. Shopify and Stripe will never admit that the problem is on their side.
I have the same problem since last week monday. I was doing 275.000 in revenue last month, and now 95% of creditcard payment attempts by customers are declined. The shopify customers service, say everthing should be fine and working. I tried so much things to fix this problem… AirWallex turned me down…
Have you found a solution,. I really want to keep using Shopify Payments.. Did your conversion rate stay the same with external payment gateway? I really hope to hear from you!
Hey @ecomneth8 hope you’re doing well :). Did Airwallex work for you? We recently tried Denmark again, but Shopify payments and another payment provider weren’t any success, at least not longer than a few weeks.
We’re now trying on Airwallex and now after a few days we see already declines incoming - which makes me suspicious that it is this same issue again…
i have been told that denmark and norway are canceling orders from outside of Scandinavië. I have tried everything for over a year. Now Selling in another country and everything works.
