Did your Shopify POS layout just go back to original? Is there a place to see updates before this type of change happens?

Yes, Shopify occasionally rolls out POS updates that can reset your custom layout back to the default. It usually happens when they push a new POS version to address bugs or add features. You can keep an eye on upcoming changes in two places:

  1. The official Shopify Changelog (https://changelog.shopify.com/) lists every push to POS, Online Store, Admin and more, so you’ll see release notes before or as they go live.
  2. Inside your Shopify admin under Settings → Plan and permissions → Shopify POS there’s sometimes a “View release notes” link that highlights recent POS changes.

If you ever spot your layout reverted, you can reapply your custom arrangement immediately in the POS app’s layout settings, and then send feedback via the in-app support icon so Shopify knows how disruptive these resets can be.
