Shopify Transaction Fees with 3rd Party Provider

Hi,

I’m currently using PayPal Express Checkout as my payment provider because Shopify Payments is not available in my country. I’m aware that when using a third-party provider like PayPal Express, there are transaction fees involved.

As I understand it, there are two types of fees I need to consider:

1. Shopify transaction fees is 2%.
2. PayPal fees, in my case is 4.9% + $0.30.

I did a test payment where the order cost was $10, and the payment was processed through PayPal Express. When I reviewed the order payment details in the Shopify admin, I noticed that the fees deducted were $0.79. I received a total amount of $9.21 into my PayPal account, I believe that fees is the PayPal fee as (($10.00 * 4.9%) + $0.30) = $0.79.

My questions are:
1. Whether the Shopify transaction fees, which are 2%, are already deducted and included in the $0.79 fee that was deducted when the order was processed (clearly it does not, as the $0.79 represents the PayPal fees), OR do I need to pay the Shopify transaction fees separately at a later time?

2. How do the Shopify Transaction fees get allocated after the purchase is made?

3. Also, is there any way to view the Shopify transaction fees? Please note that I’m not using Shopify Payments. I did check the Settings > Billing > Bills, and there was nothing there & Setting>payments> there is no “View Payouts” option.

This might be due to reason that you are using basic plan of Shopify wherein apart from Shopify payments an additional percent will be charged.

You can read more about transaction fees and how they are billed here on our help site.

These will be shown in any bills where transaction fees have been levied (as opposed to on the orders themselves), and the way that your account is billed for third-party transaction fees depends on your store’s transaction volume, any recurring app charges, and the payment provider that you use.

Would you have just recently set up this store and started selling, or have you had a number of monthly invoices issued already?

Be carefull Paypal wastransfer to shopify internal merchant and now the protection do not cover only US or France transactions.Search it in shopify paypal payments
