I am trying to finish building my store. I need to buy the template I have been trialling. But, because I accidentally tried to pay with an expired card, now that I have updated the card and tried again, the system now won’t take the payment. Shopify blamed my bank, who blame Shopify. I was told to wait for reset, but nothing has changed. So 24 hours later, I can’t progress. I tried Shopify chat again - but I have been passed to email, but it will take 24 HOURS to respond. I am sobbing with stress and frustration. I just want to. make. a. payment.
You can’t do much here.
Shopify can often be very inflexible.
But now you have another chance to look over your site and think about what your visitors would like to see? How you can improve it?
Do you have enough info to inspire trust in them?
Hi @ABOW
@tim_1 is right, there are not a lot of actions you can do here. But in the meantime, you can this workaround out:
First, open a new incognito or private browser window and log in to your Shopify admin. Go to Online Store > Themes. Instead of clicking on your trial theme, scroll down to a different theme (like the default “Dawn” theme), click the three dots beside it, and choose Customize.
Now, while you are on this different theme’s editor screen, open the Shopify Theme Store in a new browser tab. Find the theme you want to purchase again and click “Buy theme.” This should initiate a completely new transaction using your updated card, bypassing the previous error
Hope this helps!
