Anyone else tired of the junky hardware that shopify locks us into for to use with the POS on iPads? The Socket scanners are honestly one of the worst pieces of hardware we have had to use. Constantly dropping connection, cannot seem to scan the cleanest/clearest barcodes that exist and just are not up to the job for a demanding retail environment. Perhaps it is a good solution for a simple, slow and not fast paced retail location but if you are serious about retail these things are awful. Due to the this we are looking at moving away from Shopify POS and just deploy an alternative solution to get us into something that is more reliable. Anyone else having issue or wish Shopify would open up the platform to work with more scanning hardware.
