Splitting payments to distribute to suppliers

Hey community,

We’re hoping that there is a Shopify guru here can help us figure out some payment splitting questions to help get our site off the ground.

Our problem.
We’re looking to split a payment after a customer goes through checkout, so that it immediately gets distributed to go to appropriate suppliers at point of purchase.

Example.

A customer buys 2 bags of coffee for $60.

The $60 will be split to send:

  • $15 Coffee + $5 Shipping for Coffee Roaster A,
  • $10 Coffee + $3 Shipping to Coffee Roaster B,
  • $27 coming as profit to us at BeanRunner.

Questions.

  • Does Shopify payments allow us to do this?
  • Do we need a third party app like Stripe connect to do this?
  • Has anyone done something similar on their site and can help us navigate our way through the setup?

Hoping someone can help.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @BeanRunner

This is not payment info it’s the break up of cost.

This can be shown on product page using properties customisation.

Thanks @gr_trading .

Does Shopify payments automatically know to pay the vendor/us/delivery partner based on those customisations? Or will something like Stripe be needed to manage that?

Thanks heaps

Customer will always make a single payment and other split payment will be done you or your client.

These payments have tax attribute included in cost which you can only claim if you settle that money your account.

Hope it’s clear.
