How do I change the position (order) of the products on the home page? Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with your shop, to ensure this gets resolved.

To share some insight, the Shopify Starter Plan is directed to merchant that are just starting out that want to sell to their customers through social media platforms or messaging apps, without maintaining an online store. Due to this, the Shopify Starter Plan includes a Simplified Online Store that does not offer editing capabilities.

While I can completely understand the impact of this, you can look into adding colors, a logo, cover images, a slogan, and a short description for the store. This can be completed from within the Settings > Brand section of the Shopify admin.

If however, you’d like to make more advanced customizations to the shop, you can look into upgrading your subscription. For additional details on available plans, you can check out our Plans and Pricing Page for more information.

So that would be a no, right? You can’t change the order of items once you put them on the home page if you have a starter plan,

Is there a comparable template in the basic plan? We just want a simple home page that shows products in a grid that you can change the order of when you add new items.

Thank you for the prompt response. You are correct, the Shopify Starter Plan does not offer editing capabilities. In the case you’re interested in upgrading your plan, you can check out the Shopify Theme Store for available templates. We offer various themes that can help you customize your online shop and recommend browsing through to see if there’s anything that fits your shops needs. The Dawn Theme for example, is very popular for its minimalist style.
