Is there any way to stop third party freelancers from using the chat bubble on my store to send unsolicited messages in an attempt to gain their services??? I have received over 10 messages from people claiming to be “shopify marketing experts” looking to give me feedback and tips etc., most are from Fiverr. I’d like this to stop…

Great question! There isn’t any way that I know of, except maybe to find a chat app that restricts to only people who have an existing customer account, to stop any one type of person from using the chat feature on your store.
There is no way to distinguish a prospective partner/dev trying to promote their services vs a customer until after the first message from them is sent.
What I can offer is that Shopify doesn’t support anyone who has a partner or developer account with us cold soliciting services like that. If you want to, you can ask them for their email address and then you can report their partner account for a review: Report a Partner Violation.
