Hi Team,

I have launched my website a couple of weeks ago and have not generated any sales yet and am wondering if there is something wrong with my website. Could anyone give me a hand and could please provide some feedback?

thanks in advance

Hi @LittleFeatherNZ ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. We are MooseDesk, a comprehensive Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App designed to elevate your customer support experience.

First, your store looks stunning! It also has quite enough essential information. However, if you have trouble generating sales, please check some of my recommendations below.

1. Add more product images

I recommend adding more product images to make it look more trustworthy and professional.

3 types of product images that should always be included for most products:

  • Images that show products “In Scale”
  • Images that highlight a product’s features: Feature Callout images to highlight specific characteristics that your customers will find valuable, such as materials
  • 3-5 Images that show products from at least a few different angles

Example:

2. Enhance your product filter search

A more intuitive filter search makes it easier for customers to find exactly what they’re looking for, thus reducing frustration. When customers can easily find products that match their specific criteria, they’re more likely to make a purchase

Besides availability and pricing, you can consider adding some other elements, such as size, materials, style, etc.

Take a look at this example:

3. Optimize the footer section

The footer is often overlooked, but it’s a valuable piece that can significantly enhance user experience and boost your website’s effectiveness. Some of the elements you can consider adding are:

  • Copyright notice: Clearly state the copyright owner and year.
  • Privacy policy link: Link to your detailed privacy policy.
  • Terms of service link: Link to your terms and conditions.
  • Contact information: Include your address, phone number, and email.
  • Social media icons: Link to your social media profiles.

4. Add a live chat section

Live chat assists potential customers instantly, addressing their questions or concerns in real time. This can prevent abandonment and encourage purchases.

I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a free Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App. MooseDesk provides auto-reply features during non-business hours, a proactive help center, and a user-friendly widget layout, offering an effective solution to enhance customer support on your platform.

As an expert/enthusiast in UX, I recommend implementing these changes to improve customer experience when scrolling through your store.

If this is helpful for you, please let me know by giving me a ‘LIKE’. If your question is answered please mark this as 'SOLUTION’.

Thank you for reading. Wish you a nice day ahead!

MooseDesk - All-in-one Shopify FAQ & Helpdesk App

Hello there @LittleFeatherNZ I’ve had a look at your store and here are a few suggestions I’d make on how it could be improved.

  1. You should add a category for latest arrivals just like the one you have for best sellers on the homepage

  2. It would make your store even more appealing to include a few short videos and gifs in the product gallery.

  3. The customer reviews on the homepage appear to be well written but a bit bland so I would suggest spicing them up a little by adding images and short descriptions to the customers.
    I hope you find these a bit helpful!

Hi @LittleFeatherNZ ,

Thank you for your question. I have taken a look at your site and here are some of my recommendations that you can consider following to improve conversions:

Optimize Your Product related sections:

  • Clear Navigation: Separate your Categories into Sub-categories so visitors can see types of products on the Home page.
  • Strong Call to Action: Add or adjust several Shop Now buttons to make them look outstanding.

Enhance product images:

  • Thumbnail and photos: Showcase the product with more photos from multiple angles and close-ups to highlight details on different contrasting backgrounds. If you can’t set up a new background, try Photoroom.
  • Compelling Description: Craft a clear and detailed description that emphasizes the features, benefits, and materials.

Build Trust and Confidence:

  • Customer Reviews: Add a star rating review widget to your products and import as many as reviews possible. Social proof helps build trust.
  • Return/Refund Policy: Clearly outline your return/refund policy for buyer peace of mind.
  • Payment Methods: Add payment badges under the Buy button on your product pages.

I also recommend some Free apps that I think will have several features to make customers eager to take action and make a purchase:
AOV Trust Badges

Finally, you should do some tests on your pages, navigation and payment to see if everything works smoothly. I hope my answer is helpful!

Best,
Liz.

Hi @LittleFeatherNZ

I had a look at your website, www.littlefeather.co.nz, and here’s some constructive feedback to help you identify potential issues and improve your chances of converting visitors into customers.

1. First Impressions & Design- Homepage Layout: The design feels clean, but it lacks a strong hook to grab visitors’ attention right away. Consider adding a bold hero image with a tagline that clearly communicates what makes your brand unique. For example, if your products are eco-friendly or handmade, emphasize that front and center.

  • Navigation: The navigation menu is simple, which is good, but it could be more intuitive. Adding dropdowns for product categories (if you have them) could make browsing easier.

2. Product Pages- Descriptions: Product descriptions are key! Make sure they aren’t just generic – highlight features, benefits, and unique aspects of the products. Adding size charts or care instructions could help too.

  • Images: Your product images look good, but consider adding multiple angles or lifestyle photos to help customers visualize the product in use. For example, if you sell clothing or accessories, show them being worn.

3. Trust Signals- Lacking Social Proof: Adding customer reviews or testimonials can build trust. If you don’t have reviews yet, consider offering a discount or incentive for the first few customers to leave feedback.

  • About Us Section: Your “About Us” page could use more storytelling. Share your brand’s journey, mission, and values to create a personal connection.

4. Call-to-Actions (CTAs)- Ensure your CTAs (like “Shop Now” or “Add to Cart”) stand out and are consistent. Maybe experiment with a different button color that contrasts more with the rest of the design.

5. Loading Speed & Mobile Optimization- I tested the site on my phone, and it seems to load fine, but make sure it’s fully optimized for mobile users. Check if buttons are easy to click and the text is readable without zooming in.

6. Checkout Process- The checkout flow is straightforward, which is great. But consider adding trust badges (e.g., “Secure Checkout,” accepted payment methods) and offering a guest checkout option to make it as seamless as possible.

7. Marketing Suggestions- Promotions: If you’re not getting sales, you might need a stronger initial push. Run a limited-time discount or free shipping offer to encourage first-time buyers.

  • Social Media: Are you actively promoting on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok? Sharing behind-the-scenes content, product showcases, or even working with micro-influencers could drive traffic.
  • Email Popups: Add a popup to capture emails with a discount code (e.g., “Get 10% off your first order”). This can help you build a mailing list for retargeting customers.

Example Enhancements#### Hero Section Update Example:

Use something like this on your homepage to grab attention:
“Sustainable, Handmade Accessories – Designed with Care, Just for You.”

Example Code for Call-to-Action Button Styling:

.button {

background-color: #ff7f50; /* Coral color for a pop */

color: #fff;

padding: 10px 20px;

border-radius: 5px;

text-transform: uppercase;

font-weight: bold;

cursor: pointer;

transition: background-color 0.3s ease;

}

.button:hover {

background-color: #ff4500; /* Darker coral for hover */

}

Final Thoughts

Your website has great potential, but small tweaks to the design, storytelling, and marketing can make a big difference in your conversions. Focus on building trust, showcasing your brand’s uniqueness, and creating an irresistible shopping experience.

If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply and I will try my best to help.
Best regards,
Daisy
