Store location, registration and payment provider

Hello Shopify community,

Me and my partner have decided to try our hand at e-commerce and thought Shopify drop shipping would be a good introduction. We’ve been working on our product and marketing and now ready to start on the technical aspect.

I am from France, she is from Hong Kong, we both live in Thailand, and we are aiming to sell to Australian market initially, perhaps expanding internationally. later on.

The question was, which Location would it be best to open the store in, what payment provider is the easiest to setup and do we need to register the business? if yes, in which country as well?

I’ve read a few guides and posts bust most of them were for USA accounts who open LLCs, is that the only way?

If you both reside in Thailand I’d recommend setting up with your Thai address. You can still sell internationally to Australia and elsewhere with this being the case. A list of payment gateways available in Thailand can be found on the Shopify website; you can contact the gateways directly to ask them about the requirements for using their gateway.
