The app credit policy for Shopify Partners does not make any sense to me

We issued some app credits to one of our clients. However for some reason that store did not end up upgrading to a paid plan, therefore the app credit remains unused.

We were shocked that when app credits are issued, it immediately gets applied and the money is taken from our bank account directly. Wasn’t that suppose to be like a $x OFF system, where if it’s not been used (and it expires after 180 days), it should refund back to us?

Now Shopify is just going to take our credit money away.

What kind of system and policy is this?

this makes absolutely no sense.

I am super disappointed at Shopify. You guys don’t really care about the benefits and welfare about your Partners.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi Sherrygo,

Thanks for your feedback on this - our product teams are looking at how this experience could be improved. As a possible alternative, have you looked at subscription discounts as a method for incentivizing merchants to try out your app instead?
