We are being inundated with 1000’s of fake new customer accounts daily that have gibberish names but have valid (well formed) gmail email addresses. These are being created at a rate of almost one every 2 minutes. Accounts locations are from various US states and cities, so not one particular location.
This is an issue that only appears to have started recently, around March 2023.
We are already using Google reCaptcha that is enabled through Shopify Preferences.
Unfortunately Shopify Plus support appear to be unable to suggest a solution to the issue besides suggesting doing a custom Google reCaptcha integration, which we cannot see the benefit of because this is already enabled on our Shopify site.
We have tried various fraud filter apps but these appear to be unable to stop the daily deluge of fake spam accounts.
I find it unusual that ours would be the only Shopify site affected by this and wondering whether this is an issue that is affecting Shopify sites in general?
