Hey Mainabil,
Ah, TikTok UTMs and Shopify—one of those mysteries nobody signed up for, yet here we are. ![]()
A few things might be messing with your tracking:
https://yourstore.com?utm_source=tiktok&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=your_campaign
(Click on your ad and check the URL in an incognito tab. If the UTMs are missing, TikTok is rewriting them.)
TikTok’s Redirect Shenanigans
If TikTok is doing auto-redirects, it might be stripping UTMs. Try turning off auto-tracking in TikTok Ads Manager and manually setting your tracking links.
Shopify Pixel vs. UTMs
If you have TikTok Pixel installed, make sure Advanced Matching is turned on. Sometimes Shopify prioritizes pixel data over URL tracking.
Spy on Your Own Links
Install Google Analytics Debugger or UTM.io to check if your links are actually passing UTMs or if they’re getting lost in the void.
Still not working? Welcome to the club. TikTok tracking is just… quirky. But hey, at least we’re not dealing with Facebook Ads attribution, right? ![]()
