Total Sales from previous day to be sent on email

Topic summary

A user seeks to automate daily emails containing the previous day’s total sales figures (including subtotal, taxes, shipping, returns, discounts, fees, duties) using Shopify Flow, but cannot find suitable variables or order data options within the platform.

Proposed Solution:

  • Use Shopify’s built-in Reports feature (available on Shopify, Advanced, or Plus plans)
  • Access Analytics > Reports > “Total Sales Over Time”
  • Set date range to “Yesterday” and export
  • Schedule daily automated emails via third-party tools like Zapier or Make

Current Status:

  • The original poster is hesitant to adopt this workaround due to additional costs and complexity for what they consider a basic feature
  • They believe this functionality should be native to Shopify
  • Another participant questions whether order volume (over 100/day) might be a limiting factor
  • The discussion remains open with no native Shopify Flow solution identified

I am trying to get The Total Sales from the previous day sent on email daily through “shopify flow”, however the available get order data and variables to send on the email dont seem to allow for this…does anyone know a work around?

Just to be clear it would be the total sales value that shows on the “Total sales over time” report details would be the below.

Total sales

Amount spent (subtotal, taxes, shipping, returns, discounts, fees, etc.)

Total sales = net sales + additional fees + duties + shipping charges + taxes

Any assistance here would be appreciated.

hey @BrendanB-YLS

Use Shopify’s Reports App with Scheduled Emails

If you’re on a Shopify plan that includes Reports (like Shopify, Advanced, or Plus), you can:

  1. Go to Analytics > Reports.
  2. Open the “Total Sales Over Time” report.
  3. Set the date range to “Yesterday.”
  4. Click Export and schedule a daily export via email using an automation tool like Zapier or Make (formerly Integromat).

if it work don’t forhet to like and mark it solution plz

Thanks for the reply, its appreciated and it makes sense…just dont want to spend money or use another app on something as simple as this that should actually be built into shopify.

What exactly is a problem? Unless, of course you have more than 100 orders per day?
