My Shopify store’s main domain is: https://zelzis.com
But the order confirmation page (thank you page) redirects to a custom subdomain: https://account.zelzis.com

Because of this, Google Ads Purchase Conversion is not tracking. The conversion is not being recorded after the order is completed.


What I Want:

I want one of the two solutions:

  1. Fix cross-domain tracking issue so Google Ads can track the purchase on account.zelzis.com
    OR

  2. I want the thank you page to stay on https://zelzis.com, not redirect to account.zelzis.com


Questions:- Is there any official solution to track purchases when the confirmation page is on a different subdomain?

  • Or how can I make sure that the order confirmation/thank you page appears on zelzis.com itself instead of redirecting?

For your first question, the answer is yes - cross-domain tracking can solve this. Google Ads and Google Tag Manager (GTM) support this setup. You need to:

  • Use Google Tag Manager on both domains.
  • Set up cross-domain linking in GTM (under your GA4 or Google Ads tag settings).
  • Make sure the GTM container is the same across both zelzis.com and account.zelzis.com.

This way, cookies and click data are passed between the domains and conversions will be tracked correctly.
