Trouble with setting up two step authentication for payment account?

I’m in the final stages of setting up my store and have hit a wall at Shopify Payments. I’m at the button where I choose account for where I want my payments to be deposited. This takes me to a window that asks me to secure my account with two step authentication. A button there says “set up two-step.” the next page says there is no page at this address. Nothing! This seems to be a pretty important step if I’m going to finish setting up my store. Am I doing something wrong or is there a glitch in the matrix?

Hi there @AridEmpire . Thank you for posting your question! This definitely shouldn’t be happening.

Are you still having trouble accessing that page? If so, I would recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Clear your cache and cookies (if you are using Google Chrome, use the “all time” time range).
  • Ensure your browser’s cookie preferences are not set to “Block all cookies”
  • Try on another web browser, and try your current browser’s incognito mode.
    • If it works when doing this you will want to update, or uninstall and reinstall the browser it isn’t working on.
    • If you still notice an issue when using incognito mode, make sure you have disabled browser extensions.
  • Ensure your web browser is up to date on the latest version (we support the browsers listed on this page).
  • Try another device, such as another computer or a cellphone.
  • Try using the Shopify Mobile app.
  • Try another internet connection (for example, switch to a cellular network on a phone rather than wifi).
  • Ensure there are no pop ups being blocked in the web browser. This will eliminate any missed popups, such as a new tab that is required to be opened.
  • Ensure you do not have any firewalls or VPNs (virtual private networks) enabled on your device or network blocking Shopify.

If the page still won’t work correctly after trying all of that I would recommend reaching out to our live support team on this page. I’m not able to see any account details over the Community, but they would be able to review this in more detail and help you further.
