Hi there, @AlenaZiegler !
Welcome to the Community! Definitely a great place to gather some input regarding anything about the platform!
With regards to your inquiry, here’s a great resource that offers all of our plans as well as their prices and features. Definitely give that a look over for the most accurate prices. If you are seeing something different on your end however, please send that over so we can dig deeper to see what is happening. Depending on your location, there may be different promotions going on which may explain different information that you are seeing.
As for your other question, the resource above will also answer this. We have a variety of plans that will suit different business kinds. You can use Shopify simply in your social channels or have your own full online store. Please give the link above a review to see which plan will work best for you and your business.
More importantly, please let me know how this works out for you or if you need further clarification on the information that was provided. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Thanks @Daniel_41
You did’n understand my questions.
It was about this:
and
which of them is true?
For my second question I’ve found the answer: light-plan has been renamed to starter-plan and now costs 5$, cheaper then it was before.
Thank you for that added information.
It appears you are seeing the new local prices we have set in certain regions. We’re always looking for ways to remove barriers to entrepreneurship. Recently, we updated subscription pricing on Shopify plans in select markets to reflect local purchasing power to make it even easier for people to start and run their businesses.
For the most accurate account specific information regarding this, I recommend you reach out to our live support team so they can dig deeper and open up back end information for you to see which prices are designated given your business location.
Feel free to use this link to reach our live queues.
I have the same question but I’m not seeing the answer/solution in the response. I am specifically referring to the advertised 50% price discount (yearly @14 .44/mo) versus the 10% discount (yearly @26 /mo). Your FAQ says this: “Yes, we offer a 50% discount on yearly plans, a 20% discount on two year plans, and a 25% discount on three year plans when they’re paid upfront. Our 50% discount only applies to the first year of yearly subscriptions for new stores in the U.S. and Canada only.”
Based on description and advertising, as long as you live in the US and Canada, you are allowed a 50% discount on the basic plan if paid yearly. So then, why are we being offered only 10% on the backend after we’ve signed up and tried out your service? Your response regarding “local market” pricing does not make sense if what you are advertising is “US & Canada”.
Thank you. I look forward to your response.
The discount you mentioned regarding paying for yearly subscriptions upfront is our standard discount which is offered across the board.
The former plan discount structure that you have outlined seems to be an ongoing promotion for certain new merchants in the US and Canada regions. Since we are not able to access such store-specific information, please reach out to our live support team for further assistance on this matter.
Once they verify your credentials, they can open up back end information and investigate further. They can explain why only certain promotions are being offered to your specific account.
Definitely let me know how this works out for you.
Daniel,
I reached out to support. I am told that when I signed up for the trial, it was under a different pricing structure (hence the higher price) and they were not willing to give me CURRENT pricing. Instead of getting me set up with the current pricing so that I can pay for the year, their solution was for me to sign-up with a completely different account and start over. That seems unnecessary. A trial period is just that. You try before you buy. I should not be forced into old pricing if the trial period itself is free. To me and probably to others this just seems like a poor tactic to leverage higher pricing. Shopify knows that customers may have spent a great deal of time and effort under the trial period getting things setup and they are banking on that fear of losing all that work, plus the store name used to set it up. All it did for me though is cause a great deal of frustration before even getting started. Currently looking for possible alternatives to shopify. Thank you for at least responding.
Thanks for taking the time to explain this further. I definitely hear your frustrations about this matter and will be sure to pass this along to our internal teams.
Most importantly, we thank you for giving us the privilege of your time and we wish you all the best in your future business endeavors.
