I haven’t seen anything recent about this and going in circles with the support documents.
I am setting up an eCommerce business in Dubai. Wanting to use Shopify but there is no provider to use Shopify Payments, thus if I want to use Stripe, I would need to pay 2% to Shopify, plus % to Stripe as well??
Someone confirm or tell me I’m wrong please!

Really good question!
As you mentioned, Shopify Payments (SP) isn’t available in the UAE currently and Stripe is possible to use as seen in the UAE Payment Gateways help guide here. If you use a third party payment gateway such as Stripe outside of SP then you would pay the CC fees for the gateway you’re using which in this case would be Stripe aswell as transaction fees (these change depending on which plan you are on).

With this solution, you can accept payments and subscriptions with many payment methods supported by your Stripe account.
Not sure that works, as if you don’t use Shopify own payment gateway, then you do have to pay them commissions as well as your chosen gateway.
Also this is for the UAE where there is no Shopify gateway.
This is a checkout solution, not just a payment gateway integration, so there is no additional Shopify commission.

In this solution, only Stripe deducts its own fee from the payment you receive, you do not pay additional Shopify fee because the payment is made at another checkout.
