Users are only being sent an “account activation” email under very specific circumstances.
If a user has already subscribed to the newsletter, then creating an account afterwards with that same email address will result in an account activation message appearing on the form and an “activate your account” email being sent.
However, if the user hasn’t subscribed to the newsletter with an email address and they create an account, there is no account activation message or email. They simply receive a “welcome” email.
This behaviour is the same regardless of whether double-opt-in is enabled for marketing.
Is there a hidden setting anywhere to force new users to activate emails regardless of the above conditions? If not, can that be added?
