Hi there!
I’m busy loading my products. I want two variants available on each product at separate prices. I got this right. If I want both variants to show as out of stock after either one of them is purchased, how do I proceed to set this up?
Many thanks in advance!

Hey Ria,
Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community. We are really sorry you posted this Question 5 hours ago, and we were not able to answer your question because of a lot of query requests.
Your Query is about making both of the variants out of Stock when someone buys only one Quantity of the variant. This is something interesting Question, and the seems to be easy.
Go to Shopify Admin > Click on Product > Add a Product > Add two variants > Make sure ouy don’t need to add the Quantity for these variants.
Now, after that, click on the Inventory under the product options. > You will see the exact product that you add > In the Inventory, set the inventory to 1 for this product.

Hi @riagreen
If you want both variants to show as out of stock after either one is purchased, I’d recommend using Easify Inventory Sync. This tool lets you link inventory between variants or products, so when one is sold, the stock of the others automatically updates.
That way, even though you have two separate variants with their own prices, you can treat them as sharing the same inventory pool. Here’s how it works:
- Set up an Inventory Group: Use the app to create Inventory Groups that group your 2 variants, and set mutual inventory
- How does it work? When small Variant 1 is purchased, both Variant 1 and Variant 2 will be reduced by 1 (or you can say the shared inventory will automatically be reduced by 1) ensuring that the inventory of your shirt is tracked.
This app is very beginner-friendly, I hope you will try it. If you need any further assistance setting this up, please let me know or reach out to Easify!
Thank you for your reply! I’ve gone through the steps but when I get to the Inventory, it shows both variants in the same product as separate products, so I cannot set the inventory of each separately as the other variant then shows up as sold out, and I cannot see a way to combine them as one product. Thanks for your help!
Hi @TheScriptFlow could you perhaps attach a screenshot of the Inventory under product options where you say I need to set the inventory as 1. Thanks!
Hi @riagreen ,
You need an ability to create group of products which will share the inventory.
Please refer to the video to see it in action.
