Variants - Dropshipping

Hi there

I am setting up a new store on Shopify and have now started to import products. The product I have uploaded now have 4 different colours and I want to created variants for these items. However, when I do this the stock does not match with the other items/color. And I have tried multiple ways but it just doesn’t go my way.

Is there anyone that knows how to do this correctly or is it better to have it as 4 separate items and not care about variants?

I will attach some photos to give a better perspective of the issue.

Hi MatildaLiind ,

There are pros and cons of listing each color on indivial products or use variants. Also depends on the products you are selling.

Multiple products

Pros: great for SEO, Google Shopping and ads on one color product. Also good for product that some color are usually more popular.

Cons: harder to manage

One product with variants

Pros: easier to manage

Cons: can’t hide out of stock variants when one of the color has zero quantity (unless with special custom liquid codE)

But once pick a strategy is hard to change that unless reimport the products.

So if I have one product with more more colors how can i make that work correctly, atm it’s not working the way I want it to work.

Thank you so much! I think that should help. However, should the other variants be imported and active in saleschannels or should I just get photos and SKU from the supplier?
