Video added on the homepage doesn't play sound

Hi,

The video found at the top of the home page of https://coralsafe.com/ isn’t playing sound and not sure why. Could you please help me rectify this? Please note I’m using Blockshop theme.

Some browsers do not allow auto play with sound unless certain conditions are met see https://developer.chrome.com/blog/autoplay/#:~:text=Autoplay%20with%20sound%20is%20allowed,installed%20the%20PWA%20on%20desktop.

I’d suggest adding an icon on the video where users can choose to mute/unmute.

It could be due to the theme developer designated the top area video simply as a background element instead of an actual video, thus the sound is turned off by design.

I suggest you look around the customization of your theme homepage, you should be able to insert a Media / Video block so you can embed a video with sound, instead of showing it as a mere background.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, inserting a video block with custom section is already possible. The issue with this is that the video that I want to show on our site is from YouTube so the video comes with the YouTube logo and other info that I don’t want shown. How can I remove these details from the Youtube video?

If you are the owner of the video, you can explore other video hosting platforms (mostly paid) where you can customize the video player and also come with a ton of other feature for video marketers. Example: Vimeo

If you are not the owner of the video, then there isnt anything we can do to remove / hide Youtube branding.

It doesn’t work in any of the browsers either.
